Just before she entered show biz full time, KC Concepcion spent a few years studying in Paris. And she has wonderful memories of the City of Light.
“Living and studying in Paris, you are surrounded by beautiful things,” says KC, who is now an actress, TV host and United Nations World Food Programme Ambassador. “Everything is so beautiful, but effortless.”
Fashion as lifestyle
KC also loves the way the French “like to mix more affordable pieces with good quality items. It always fits the mood. Fashion is normal and natural, it’s a lifestyle for them.”
That’s why it was an easy choice for her when she was offered to be the brand ambassador for Parisian, SM’s iconic brand of shoes inspired by her favorite city.
“I love Paris, and I love shoes and bags,” she says. “I’ve become a shoe-holic and bag-aholic. I was conscious about my outfits before, but then I realized that shoes and bags can really make or break your look and attitude.”
What she likes best about Parisian shoes and bags is that “they are on-trend while being playful and fun at the same time.”
Affordable
She adds: “Parisian has a way of making girls feel that they can wear any style and there are different options for any style. Every girl can find something from Parisian. It’s very affordable and there are many SM Stores nationwide so you can get the Parisian shoes and bags you want.”
During the shoot for the campaign, KC found herself drawn to Parisian’s collection of architectural heeled shoes. “I like the Yoshi design with its see-through heel and T-strap,” she says. “It has a pop of color.”
She also likes “the Eileen with its platform heel and architectural design. It looks simple in front, but it’s also fun and playful.”
As for her own shoe wardrobe, she says: “I always have the neutral basic pieces, but I also like taking risks. I like to have fun. I like high heels, though I wear flats on more casual days.”
She likes “shoes that are on-trend, but I also like the classic and casual look. That’s why Parisian is perfect for me.”
Cassandra bag
When it comes to bags, KC considers them as long-term investments, and looks for good leather and a style that will last. She admits, however, to being more experimental in her choice of little purses.
“I like bags with lots of studs and stones,” she says. “Recently, I’ve been obsessed with ethnic prints and metallics—things one could get in Asia or in Africa with a modern twist.”
KC also singled out the “Cassandra bag, not because it’s named after me, but I like its metallic buttons and studs. That’s what I mean when I say off-beat accessories at a very affordable price.”
She is happy she was chosen as Parisian’s brand ambassador as “they really have nice designs Filipinos can wear and never feel uncomfortable.”
