So we’re not going to get-get SexBomb Girls’ ‘Daisy Siete,’ Netflix?

Our hopes for getting on-demand streaming for the show going pataas at pababa

Apir tayo if sumakit ang dibdib mo when Netflix dropped a teaser featuring the SexBomb Girls last night. Six of the members were clad in candy-colored pinks and blues in a studio that reminded many of Studio Choom’s. Fans flocked to the comments section making K-pop “sub-unit” jokes and asked the question we were all wondering: Is “Daisy Siete” coming to Netflix?

To cut a long story short, the answer is no. Netflix revealed today, Feb. 21, that the SexBomb Girls are simply helping announce lower subscription rates for the streaming service with their iconic “Spaghetti Song.” We’re pretty wary of pop culture nostalgia marketing these days but the video is a bit of a serve with its nods to ’90s notebook and album cover designs, “Teletubbies,” and the OG members’ “Laban o Bawi” days.

Netflix Philippines’ Basic Plan monthly price is now down to P249 from the previous P349. The Standard Plan, on the other hand, is now at P399 monthly compared to the previous P459. This announcement comes after the backlash and mass cancellations that Netflix, Inc. received because of its password-sharing crackdown and price increase in select countries. Guess we dodged a bullet there.

But back to the SexBomb Girls. They’re as charming and energetic as ever. Their smiles, kembot, and signature “Aww!” are infectious. And they’re rocking those mini skirts, cropped tops, and thigh-high boots like no time has passed at all. As the stans say, this Pinay girl group paved the way!

It makes sense that the SexBomb Girls’ queer iconography endures and that there’s still clamor to get the fashionable, sometimes campy, and surprisingly emotional “Daisy Siete” available on-demand on a streaming giant. The latest we’ve seen of the series is its afternoon rerun comeback on Cignal TV’s BuKo channel. Yup, ICYMI, the channel has even already shown the third season where Coco Martin and SexBomb Rochelle had an enemies-to-lovers thing going and the Super Akang story.

Still, on-demand streaming for the 1,999-episode show would be great. Who’s going to make this happen?
