Tomato believes women need to be beautiful and strong inside and out. Last May, the garments and accessories brand launched a new line of watches called SWAP which was not only a fashion statement, but also an advocacy.
The SWAP Be The Change face design and Pink Strap Set promote the advocacy for breast cancer. Any purchase at Tomato stores and kiosks in malls and on www.tomato.ph helped women who needed free mammogram testing get this service without paying for its cost.
Also, in commemoration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month last October, Tomato offered a special 20-percent discount in all its stores for any pink (or with a touch of pink) Tomato item purchased.
The culminating event to Tomato’s initiative for Breast Cancer Awareness Month was a joint project with Regine Tolentino and her RT Studios. Regine, a celebrity and dance teacher, donated her free services as a certified Zumba instructor and conducted two Zumba classes for Tomato’s SWAP Shape Up for BCA (Breast Cancer Awareness) Program.
Regine and her classes donated their services and cash contributions to The Cancer Treatment Support Foundation, the beneficiary of SWAP’s Pink Be The Change Watch for Breast Cancer.
