Sulo Riviera Hotel in Quezon City was the scene for the bienvenida for Ipe Cruz, who was coming home from New York, and the birthday of former Givenchy house model Tetta Agustin Bavery, dahlings.

The twin celebrations showed Sulo Riviera was the place to be “in” north of the metro for our town’s well-heeled set. The old Sulo is now a gorgeously furnished boutique hotel under Tina Cuevas, back from a 20-year stay in Barcelona, Spain, who did a great job of giving Sulo that ultra-high-end look with her classy interior designs, dahlings.

Entering the reception and lobby areas, then breezing through the dining area and continuing to the pool where there are huge white tents and a music band dressed in all-white, made me feel like I was in a club in Monte Carlo. Totally awesome, dahlings.

Cocktails, aperitifs and hors d’oeuvres were served in the cool Aqua poolside lounge, while the invitees nibbled on the most tender roast beef, decadent foie gras fried rice, savory tinapa triangles, and other specialties of the hotel’s chic Café Paraiso, palanggas.

Hong Kong socialite Karen Chuang with son Edwin; Maki Cruz; Cecille Ang; Natori creative director Ian Giron; PR consultant Pam Gonzales; and Consuls Fortune Ledesma and Agnes Huibonhoa.

Erratum:

In the May 16 article about Oakley, the photo captioned “Vashu Dargani with Ramesh and his wife Nameeta Dargani,” should have been “Hut Rajiv Dargani, Oakley Philippines director of operations, with parents Geeta Dargani and Oakley Philippines CEO Ramesh Dargani.” Sorry, palanggas, for the mistake.
