Gantimpala Theater, one of Manila’s leading dramatic arts companies, is holding three performing arts workshops this summer.
Headed by artistic director Joel Lamagan and chairman and president Jun F. Flavier Pablo, Gantimpala Theater offers Children’s Musical Theater for kids ages 5-12, Teens and Adults Musical Theater from 13 years old and up, and Advance Musical Theater.
Classes will be April 21-May 24, Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-12 nn, Children’s; 1-5 p.m., Teens and Adults; 6 to 9 p.m.
Facilitators are theater actress Lodie Atis for Children’s Musical Theater; director, playwright and librettist Jose Jeffrey Camanag for Teens and Adults Musical Theater; actor, singer, director, Aliw Awardee and Urian nominee Roeder Camanag for Advance Musical Theater.
Enrollment is ongoing at the Gantimpala office at the former Rizal Park Library along P. Burgos and Ma. Orosa Streets., Luneta, Manila, beside Planetarium. Tuition is P6,000.
Some of the Gantimpala Theater workshop graduates are celebrities chef and actress China Cojuangco, comedienne and singer Kakai Bautista, TV host Valerie Tan, actor Marcus Madrigal, former “Pinoy Big Brother” participant Ivan Dorschner.
This year’s workshop is in partnership with the National Parks Development Committee.
