MANILA, Philippines – Filipinos are inherently warm and welcoming, treating everyone as part of their family. Their genuine sense of concern and affection for others do not stop with tatay, nanay and their children, but extend to everyone who matter in their daily lives.
This is true for celebrity family and newest Jollibee brand ambassadors Zoren Legaspi, Carmina Villaroel and their twins Mavy and Cassy Legaspi. A picture of a blissful, loving family, the Legaspi brood shared that their happiness is only multiplied by the people in their lives who they also consider as family. “There are a lot of people who we cherish so much. Whether or not we’re related to them by blood, we think of them as family,” Carmina said.
This is pretty much the reason why according to them, they can relate to the fast-food chain’s recent commercial which touches on the essence of treating everyone as one’s own kin.
For the Legaspis, their kasambahays are not just people who make their lives easier, but a real blessing that has become a big part of their family. “Some of them have been with us since Mavy and Cassy were just three months old and some of them, even before Zoren and I got together. I can see how much they love my kids and I’m very thankful for that,” she said. The actress added that no matter how busy she gets at work, she is confident that her kids are always in good hands.
Carmina said that “mutual trust and respect” is the key to maintaining a harmonious relationship with the people who take care of her family. “They’re very close to our hearts. For example, Kuya Raffy, our driver, is very protective of Mavy. They also hang out and play basketball together,” she shared.
For the twins, their mom’s long-time manager Dolor Guevarra and talent manager Shirley Kuan are like their second parents. “They have been there for us since we were three months old,” said Cassy. “They have been a part of our mom’s life even before she had us,” added Mavy.
As for Zoren, fatherhood is a role that he takes seriously, not only for his kids but also for his production team. “Our relationship is not based on work and salary alone,” said the producer and director. “They know that they can count on me when they have problems and I’m confident that they always have my back, too.”
“Family is more than blood. They are people that treat you with love and people you show love to,” added Carmina. “And Filipinos have so much love to give, that we treat every single person as family. I think that’s one of our most admirable traits.”
