MANILA, Philippines—It was a busy, bustling Saturday when shoppers caught sight of a giant maleta sitting by the fountains of the Eastwood Mall Open Park. Highlighted by a mysterious blue button, few of the mallgoers attempted to check out the maleta — but it wasn’t until sometime later that a brave soul mustered up the courage to press the button at its center.
The result? A festive performance of dancers, drummers, confetti, fake snow, a real-life horse and music that took the audience by surprise, as shoppers slowed down in their tracks to check out what was going on at the Open Park — and, iPhones and Androids in tow, caught the whole thing on their smartphones.
The delightful show was the brainchild of tripmoba.com, The Philippines’ Online Travel Site. Brought to life in 2012, the up-and-coming website is set on making great travel stories happen, and weaving picture-perfect memories into the busy lives of students, professionals, friends and families.
True to its goal, tripmoba.com gave Eastwood Mall’s shoppers a great afternoon, and an even better story to tell for years to come.
