That bite-size wonder from Japan—takoyaki, a ball-shaped Japanese snack made of wheat-flour batter and diced octopus, shredded greens topped with hearty bonito flakes and a special sauce—now comes in various flavors courtesy of Tamayaki, with branches at SM North Edsa, Fisher Mall Quezon Avenue, Landmark Makati and SM Fairview. Its flagship store in the Philippines is at P. Guevara Avenue in San Juan City.
Tamayaki offers takoyaki flavors from the authentic seasoned octopus, to other alternatives like kani and shrimp, squid satay, kani and mozzarella, grilled steak, chicken teriyaki, mussels and cheese, smoked mackerel, ham and mozzarella, fish fillet, Korean pork barbecue and double cheese. Accompanying sauces range from traditional takoyaki sauce to the spicy-sweet satay.
The menu also includes one-off concoctions like Matcha Milk Tea with Adzuki Bean, Blueberry Yogurt with Popball and Sake Milk Tea with Rice Ball.
Tamayaki outlets are also located in China, Australia, Spain, Indonesia and Malaysia. Visit the Facebook page at facebook.com/TamayakiPH, or follow on Instagram @TamayakiPH.
