This year’s Billboard Music Awards started off with a mix of highs and lows: high hems and low necklines (and not to mention, low esteem) as the trendsetters hit the red carpet.

Celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Empire’s Taraji Henson and, of course, Taylor Swift made it to the spotlight and easily bagged best-dressed.

However, where there is an army of fashion crusaders, there are those who take risks and just don’t make the cut.
