This July, the New World Hotel in Makati will have a hotel-wide promo featuring premium Canadian beef in partnership with the Canadian Embassy and the Canada Beef International Institute.
Diner at Café 1228 can enjoy a wide array of dishes using Canadian beef like Sugar-cured tenderloin, Pepper Beef salad, and Roast beef baguettes. As the hotel’s main buffet and all-day dining establishment, Café 1228 will also showcase different Canadian beef cuts in dishes like Red Wine and Beer Braised Short Ribs, Beef and red wine stew and a Whole roast rib.
At Jasmine Restaurant, Hong Kong Master Chef Wong Kim On will prepare some of his signature à la carte dishes, such as Pan-fried Beef Roll Stuffed with Enoki Mushrooms, and Beef Steak with Goose Liver and Black Truffle Sauce.

During a preview to the month-long food promotion, the hotel’s executive chef Robert Davis prepared several dishes including an amazing whole roast rib, beef tenderloin and prime rib steaks.
Guest chef Sandy Daza shared his views on Canadian beef and prepared his signature Roasted Rib Eye for the preview.
“The flavor of Canadian beef is exceptional and you don’t really need much seasoning. A little Himalayan salt should do the trick and maybe just a touch of truffle oil as well,” Daza said. The event was attended by Canadian ambassador to the Philippines H.E. Neil Reader together with Senior Trade Commissioner Michael Belanger and several executives and representatives of the Canada Beef International Institute and the New World Hotel.
