A new theme park is celebrating the boundless imagination of a child and lets them realize their dreams.
KidZania Manila, an 8,000 square meter facility located at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City, allows children aged 4 to 14 to play different roles through a realistic learning environment.
“Children can pretend and live out their dreams through 50 establishments and roles,” said KidZania Philippines State Governor Maricel Pangilinan-Arenas.
The unique theme park looks like a real city but with establishments that are two-thirds of its actual size. In these establishments, children take charge and can take jobs based on their interests.
Children can become pilots, bakers, chefs, journalists and assume other professions. Even the Philippine Daily Inquirer has its own booth wherein children can learn how to write news and get published!
Upon entering the complex, children are given a boarding pass and a check which they can encash in exchange of KidZania currency. They can even file their taxes, ride electric cars and attend classes in a university.
Aside from helping spark the imagination of children, KidZania wants to inculcate the concept of a good community by teaching them to be leaders.
“It’s also the concept of what makes a good community. We want to empower children. We want to spark their hearts and minds. We want to know that they can take charge (and) that they have the power to engage and make change,” Pangilinan-Arenas said.
“Childhood should be about exercising your imagination through play. We hope that a safe and secure place like KidZania will help children build confidence, inspire their imagination and spark their dreams about what is possible,” she added.
KidZania Philippines is the 20th KidZania city in the world. AJH
