It’s a very sweet Monday for Inquirer Lifestyle as they launch Best Desserts 2, a book that compiles a second serving of the country’s top sugary confections.
“We decided to come out with a second book because the first one was a bestseller,” said Inquirer President and CEO Sandy Prieto-Romualdez.

Over 70 of the country’s best pastry chefs and most popular home bakers gathered at the SMX Convention Center at SM Aura for the event. Best Desserts 2 author Vangie Baga-Reyes said, “I’m happy that the bakers are here and that they’re sharing their beautiful creations.”
Exclamations of delight can be heard from guests who stopped by booth after booth to sample the sweet treats. “This is heaven.” “I’m so overwhelmed.” “Oh my god.”
They feasted on La Lola Churros, Cakes by Miriam’s Merry Berry Cake, Chef David Choo’s Custard Buns, L’entrecote’s Apple Tarte Tatin 1880 and more.
“This is a one-of-a-kind event in the country which really reflects how sweet Pinoys can be,” said Thelma Sioson-San Juan, Inquirer’s Lifestyle Editor.
