There was a lot of clinking of champagne glasses, dahlings, at the recent opening of the chic beauty salon Le Maquillage at its new location in the Zuellig Building, Makati. Manille’s pampered set raised toasts to the salon’s charming managing director Deborah Tan.

The calming ambiance at Le Maquillage is the result of the collaborative efforts between Japanese designer Kazuma Mizobuchi of Tokyo’s Odyssey of Iska Architect and Associates and Filipino designer Sonia Santiago Olivares.

The salon’s French creative director Laurent Hebert is responsible for the hairstyles of A-lister celebrities, socialites, elite, the super-stylish and even royalty from various countries, no less. Those who have had the privilege of being handled by Laurent swear by his talent and technique.

Le Maquillage also boasts a core team of gifted stylists and aestheticians—Edgar Montaño Jr., Lydia Panesa and Jaybee Jara—who have years of experience in the field.

Guests at the opening were honorary consul of Monaco Fortune Ledesma, honorary consul of Gambia Agnes Huibonhua, Swatch’s Virgie Ramos, socialites Tereret Liboro, Helen Ong and Frances Espinosa, society photographer Alex van Hagen, magnate Peter Coyiuto, real estate professional Michael Jungschlager.

Hosting the event were Le Maquillage loyal clients Tessa Prieto-Valdes and Matteo Guidicelli, with Jon Santos drawing laughs as Miss Universe “Pia Horseback.”

Le Maquillage’s services include haircutting, styling and various treatments, massage, spa, nail care and makeup.

The salon’s primary goal is to make clients feel pampered, rejuvenated and leave the place looking and feeling their best.

Summer colors at Rustan’s

Summer comes alive with bursts of floral colors, which Rustan’s has adopted as the theme of its Colors and Petals 2016 fashion collection.

Held recently at the Loft at Manansala in Rockwell Makati, the event treated guests to scrumptious treats, overflowing drinks and cool dance beats.

Highlighting it was a fashion show featuring stylish ensembles including soft and creamy pastel colors from Rustan’s trendy picks for the season.
