A TWO-PART workshop conducted by Liana Romulo lays the foundation for an ongoing breathing and meditation practice.
You will first learn how to properly align yourself for breathing practice, breathe with the diaphragm and breathe with awareness.
There will be one or two traditional pranayama techniques, with timed sitting practices incorporated into each class. Some experience with yoga postures is desirable but not required.
Part 1 is set on June 14, 3-4:45 p.m., or June 18, 9-10:45 a.m. Part 2 is on June 21, 3-4:45 p.m., or June 25, 9-10:45 a.m.
Part two is open only to those who have completed the first half of this course. Fee for the whole course is P2,500.
Romulo has been cultivating a personal breathing practice for 10 years, closely following the lineage of Swami Kuvalayananda, founder of the Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute in India.
She has completed more than 800 hours of formal training with O.P. Tiwari, Kuvalayananda’s direct disciple and a master of pranayama.
Although Tiwari gave Romulo his blessing to share the practice with others in 2012, Romulo still seeks the guidance of her first teacher, Paul Dallaghan, while also receiving illumination from Richard Freeman and Mary Taylor, with whom she studies Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga.
All classes are at the Romulo Peace Center, Century Plaza, 120 Perea St. Legaspi Village, Makati; Call 0921- 3152644; e-mail romulocen
