Would You Sit on These Chairs Made Entirely of Shirts? | Lifestyle.INQ

Do you have old shirts that you’re not exactly using as much, but you just can’t throw out? If yes, then let French nautical fashion brand Saint James suggest something else you can do with them: shirt-chairs.

Yes, it does sound a bit crazy, but it’s possible. The brand commissioned designer Tobias Juretzek, who is known for creating chairs out of recycled clothing, to make 100 shirt-chairs out of select garments.

The standard Saint James shirt-chair is made up of four striped Naval II shirts ($139) and six pairs of David jeans ($145) which were dipped in resin. While all of them will have the brand’s signature Breton stripes, each are said to be created differently and will be sold for $950 at their two boutiques in New York.

Unfortunately, since the chairs are limited, they are not listed on Saint James’ website so they can’t be shipped internationally—not yet, anyway. So, if you’re living in New York or have relatives who do, then better get your hands on these chairs before they run out. Or, who knows? Maybe Tobias can let us in on how he makes those chairs so we could just try to make it ourselves at home.
