Most treasured Star Wars collectible: “Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds” introduced me to the wonderful realm of 4X gaming. Why spend minutes trying to defeat the Galactic Empire, when you could simply go on Scenario Mode and play out your favorite Star Wars scenes-or make some? I fashion a typical father-and-son scenario with Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker and a ton of little Anakin clones.
Intergalactic character I wanna meet: Jar Jar Binks. We all know he’s Darth Jar Jar, and I have to know how he orchestrated all of these events. Meesa thinks Jar Jar very clever, becha becha.
Ideal Star Wars-themed date: Spare me a marathon. I’d love to test my love for Star Trek against her love for Star Wars, and let’s see how Han Solo would fair facing the wit of Captain James Kirk—or, well, just how practical of a weapon is a lightsaber if one mishap would mean a loss of limbs.
R2-D2, C-3PO or BB-8? Threepio, hands down, anytime of the day. On the off-chance I end up getting stranded in some vicious part of the galaxy, then who better to companion me than a droid with seven-million “modes of communication” in his data banks? It’d be a conversationalist’s paradise.
Unpopular Star Wars opinion: The Expanded Universe is still my shared universe. It took me ten years’ worth of novels, comic books and games to cement a look on the Old Republic and the post-Galactic Empire landscape, and now you’re telling me I have to discard years’ worth of study, not to mention hours’ worth of playing the MMO, because we have a new trilogy in our hands? No, my good sir.
