Miss Universe mania is truly upon us, with the much-awaited coronation night only a couple of weeks away. Even the daughter of the Philippines’ first ever Miss Universe is on board with her own take on the Miss U craze.

 

In a post on Instagram, actress, model and TV host Isabelle Daza both stunned and beguiled netizens as she dressed as her mother, Miss Universe 1969, Gloria Diaz, complete with crown and sash. The caption read: “When your mom is iconic enough to be a costume. Thanks for the crown.”

 

Netizens were quick to comment on the Daza’s mind-blowing resemblance to her mother and wondered how she would have fared if she were to join the pageant as well. Many even thought the photo was a “throwback” post. The post has drawn more than 40,000 likes as posting time.

 

Diaz is among the three Filipinas to have won the Miss Universe pageant, along with Margie Moran (1973) and Pia Wurtzbach (2015). CDG
