Can a woman sue her husband’s mistress–while she is also mistress to another? | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

Dear Emily,

I have a 21-year-old friend who is a teacher with a certified professional license. She was impregnated by a married man, but there is a twist here.

The wife of this married man was impregnated as well by another man. Their child is now 3 years old.

The question is, does the legal wife have the right to file a case against the teacher?

CONCERNED FRIEND

Seriously? Does the wife really wish to pursue this case? This harkens to the situation of the pot calling the kettle black. It’s almost like watching a comedy of errors, except that this is happening in real life. A fiction writer couldn’t have conceived of a more eyebrow-raising story.

The wife can certainly go to court and make a case of it. But what rationale will she give in this legal filing? Can she actually enter the courtroom head held high, look the girlfriend and her husband in the eye, and hope not to blink?

How about the 3-year-old boy who has to be put on display—in the flesh, no less? Will she be able to defend that glaring exhibit without a tinge of unease, never mind shame?

It’s just unfortunate that life happens when you think you’re having fun.

Shouldn’t all the erring parties be better off by simply charging everything that has happened to experience and mercifully moving on, whatever and however it feels to have everyone’s tail in between their legs?

As someone rightfully said, like it or not, “Karma has everyone’s address.”
