Twenty-one dessert makers from Lifestyle’s famous “Best Desserts” book and event will showcase their popular desserts starting tomorrow until Sunday at Central Square, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

Mini Best Desserts Fair opens Aug. 10, 11 a.m., and will run Aug. 11, 11 a.m.-10 p.m.; Aug. 12, 11 a.m.-10 p.m.

There will be the popular cakes, mango torte, leche flan, among others, from Lifestyle’s best-selling desserts guide, “Best Desserts 4” written by Lifestyle staffer Vangie Baga-Reyes.

This is the fourth volume of the annual guide. It was launched before an overflowing crowd last May at SM Aura in Taguig City.

Shoppers can have their fill of desserts at Central Square Atrium, and meet the talented bakers.

The lineup

Diana Ang Uy’s mouthwatering Mango Torte, a rustic three-layer meringue peppered with walnuts, cream and sweet mango bits;

Rina Go’s Chocolate Tower with deep, intense chocolate flavor with ganache filling and fudge frosting;

Valerie Sotto’s Rum Cake generously covered with salted caramel sauce;

Beatrix Atienza of Bellefleur’s ultra rich, creamy and filling Ube Leche Flan Ice Cream;

Portia Dee Baluyut of Rustic Mornings’ Crispy Waffle Churros or Brownie Brittle Waffle;

Jertie and Jaq Abergas of Jertie’s Kitchen’s moist Gluten-free Vegan Dark Chocolate Cake using only coco sugar and coco milk;  Ann and Chino Abacan’s Pinoy-inspired Low-Calorie Banana Langka Cheesecake using a mix of cottage cheese and cream cheese.

Other dessert makers who will present their bestsellers include Erika Pereña (Wrapsody); Pixie and Aina Sevilla (Brazo de Remedios); Edylyn Gamboa-Liu (Fog City Creamery Artisanal Ice Cream); Rossana Hwang (Mocha Cake and Ensaymada); Arie Cuerva Kidder (Cheesecake Fudge and Strawberry Dream Cake); Agapita and Greggie Mercado (Pastillas Cake and Suman Cake); Gina Villanueva (Flavored Leche Flan); Cory Untalan (Premium Ube Cheesecake); Kristine Basilio (Homemade Truffles); Margot Sanchez Pablo (Cashew Sans Rival, Cream Puffs and Meringue Kisses); Cay Cuasay (GreenTea Strawberry Shortcake); Angela and Ninay Zamora (Ooey Gooey); Rocelle Gonzalez Lizares (Sans Rival and Ensaymada); and Judah Liu (Bibingkang Malagkit with Coco Sugar, Organic Caramel Cake and Palillos de Milan).

To liven up the three-day desserts sale, live performances by various artists will be held at the Atrium.

On Aug. 10, performers include: Alex and Friends, 12:30-1:30 p.m.; Daisy Chains, 6-7 p.m. On Aug. 11: Jam-In Band, 12:30-1:30 p.m.; Space Buddies, 6-7 p.m.; Aug. 12, Vanilla Sundaes, 12:30-1:30 p.m.; Aggresibo, 6-7 pm.

Gracing the opening ceremony on Aug. 10 are Inquirer president Sandy Prieto Romualdez, SSI Group vice president for finance Rossellina Escoto and SSI Group vice president for investor relations and corporate planning Marti Atienza.

Central Square is in Bonifacio High Street Central, 5th Ave. and 30th St., BGC, Taguig.
