Venerated images to be enthroned at Veritas Chapel | Lifestyle.INQ

Fr. Anton Pascual, president of Radio Veritas, encouraged the faithful to practice veneration of the saints and improve their spiritual health..

Pascual said for Catholics to deepen their devotion to the Blessed Mother and the saints is to deepen their faith and spirituality.

“As we all know, venerated images from various parts of our country are currently enthroned here in Our Lady of Veritas Chapel. We are doing these programs as part of our main goal to make the public aware about the plans of the Catholic Church as we prepare to celebrate the 500th year of Christianity in our country,” Pascual said.

Last Sept. 13, the faithful prayed to St. Padre Pio at Our Lady of Veritas Chapel in Quezon City.

St. Padre Pio was an Italian Franciscan Capuchin priest known for his piety and charity, as well as the gift of the stigmata, which has never been explained. By 1919, word began to spread about Padre Pio’s stigmata and people came from far away to examine him. He became popular with the people he encountered who soon began to attribute supernatural occurrences to him.

Meanwhile, the Catholic faithful may pray to other enthroned venerated images at Veritas Chapel such as Nuestra Señora del Mar Cautiva (until Sept. 28), Our Lady of Peñafrancia (until Sept. 16), St. Joseph Cupertino (until Sept. 18) and St. Therese of the Child Jesus (Sept. 22-Oct. 1).

Pascual said the faithful may send prayer requests, petitions, thanksgiving prayers and other intentions during the Healing Mass on Sept. 17, 12 noon, to be presided by Fr. Soy Hernando.

“Let us take this opportunity to pray not only for our personal intentions but also for our brothers and sisters in need to seek for God’s mercy, our leaders to remain faithful while serving our country, and our clerics and consecrated persons to continue their devotion to the Almighty Father,” Pascual said.
