‘Guadalupe: The Musical’ to benefit typhoon victims | Lifestyle.INQ

“Guadalupe: The Musical” will have a special gala night on Sept. 29, 8 p.m., at the Meralco Theater for the benefit of Caritas Manila (CM).

 

Produced by the Julie Borromeo Performing Arts Foundation, “Guadalupe” is headlined by Cocoy Laurel and  helmed by Borromeo and Baby Barredo. Book is by Joel Trinidad, music by Ejay Yatco.

 

The original musical is about the Marian apparition in 1531.

 

Proceeds will go to typhoon “Ompong” victims and to CM’s flagship, Youth Servant Leadership & Education Program.

Marian seminar Sept. 30

 

Missionaries of Mary (MM) will hold the Marian Encounter Seminar on Sept. 30, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Tan Yan Kee Student Center, España, Manila.

 

Speakers are Msgr. Sabino Vengco Jr., chair of Kadiwa sa Pagpapari Foundation; Fr. Frederick Yumang, SMM of the Association of Mary, Queen of All  Hearts; and Fr. Jonathan Rubin of UST Central Seminary.

 

Closing Mass to be presided by Fr. Jerome R. Secillano, executive secretary for public affairs of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines.

 

Seminar fee is P150.
