On its second year in Manila, It’s a Girl Thing took the event to the next level producing more stunning live performances and heartfelt discussions with some of the world’s most popular young female online content creators.

Brought to audiences by Globe Live, in partnership with Branded (the co-producers of the YouTube FanFest), the recently-held event at Vertis Tent, Quezon City, saw a huge crowd of young Filipinas joining some of their most admired social stars to celebrate being a strong, independent girl. This year’s lineup included international influencers Megan Batoon, LianeV (Valenzuela), Meredith Foster, Asia Jackson and AndreaH, and was joined by local stars Solenn Heussaff, Janina Vela, Hannah Pangilinan, AC Bonifacio, Reneé Dominique, Dani Barretto, Anne Gauthier and Gracenote’s Eunice Jorge.

The stellar mix of international and local speakers spearheaded discussions on various topics such as building and maintaining self-confidence, dealing with bullying and body shaming, and overcoming cultural challenges to achieve future aspirations. The panel discussions were complemented with special live performances by LianeV, Megan Batoon, Janina Vela, AC Bonifacio, Hannah Pangilinan and a lot more.

The excitement brought about by the event was evident in the reactions from the young women who attended. Many noted that they gained key insights on developing an optimistic and confident outlook in life. Jasmine, 14 said: “It made me feel like I’m not the only one who has that problem and by supporting each other we can pass these challenges and improve yourself.” Another attendee Rica, 15, cited the importance of constantly working hard to achieve one’s goals, regardless of circumstances: “One thing that really struck me was “progress is progress”. Even if it’s just a little progress, it still matters. It takes time to build and reach your dreams.”

Lucky fans were also given the opportunity to meet and greet their idols in a fun and festive atmosphere full of girl power. “Globe LIVE is committed to inspiring and empowering young Filipina women through co-producing and supporting properties and efforts like It’s a Girl Thing. As we recognize the fast evolution of the digital lifestyle, we wish to establish Globe as the trusted partner of these young girls in their journey to self-discovery and learning how to positively express themselves, on and offline,” said Denise Seva, Director for Events and Production at Globe LIVE.
