On my website today, I posted some holiday decorating hacks from Tessa Prieto-Valdes. I shot a video with her highlighting her main set up and what she prioritizes when it comes to Christmas at home. I hope you can take time to watch it on YouTube!

It would be an understatement to say that Tessa Prieto-Valdes lives life to the fullest. She needs hyperbolic expression to describe how she is. Tessa loves life and being happy. It seems too simple compared to the flamboyant outfits and headpieces she wears. She’s the type who attends Zumba class in a tutu with her leggings. I wish all of us would be blessed to have that kind of zest.

So who would be surprised to find that Tessa is one to go all-out when it comes to her holiday decorations? Every year, there is a theme. Every single corner in her space is filled with decor according to said theme. I feel a little overwhelmed every time I pass by her place. But I always leave her place with a sense of happiness. You can definitely say that Tessa manages to accomplish her mission all the time.

This year, her home decor’s theme is all about emojis. Fitting, since she’s also translated her message to the online sphere. Your Instagram feed would be drab without a dose of @seaprincess888’s posts which reflect her travels, every day musings and different projects including the Red Charity Gala.

But it is not excessive. Somehow, Tessa finds a balance between completing the theme and making sure nothing goes to waste. Her emoji decor are pillows and pouches which serve as gifts. The cloth which she uses on her tree is sourced from Divisoria, with an eventual plan to repurpose it. She also incorporated her snow globe collection into the theme, so that everything feels coherent and still feels like home.

I asked Tessa if it takes her long to decide on what to do. For her, it does take some time, but it’s also part of her lifestyle. Every day for Tessa is another chance to express her creativity.
