Marks & Spencer this year has its limited-edition line of goodies, from cheesy pasta and glazed fruitcakes to wine-flavored chips and intensely fruity pudding—all for the holiday table.
“Offering uniquely good food has always been the highlight of our year,” said Anton Huang, president of SSI Group, exclusive distributor of Marks & Spencer Food.
A deliciously curated holiday spread with samplings of all things sweet and savory was set up during the launch at Marks & Spencer Food store at Central Square in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. This is the only M&S Food store, among its 22 branches including Cebu City, with a café serving hot meals.
The spread consisted of Goat’s Cheese and Rosemary Bites and Crunchy Parmesan Bites, both crunchy and cheesy which are perfect holiday nibbles paired with a glass of wine.
Party appetizers
Another ideal party appetizer are the hand-cooked Port & Stilton red and white crisps, made with a splash of full-bodied ruby port; and the Winter Berries and Sparkling Prosecco crisps with a fruity sparkling wine flavor and hints of raspberry and blackcurrant.
If you want something more filling and flavorful, there are the traditional creamy Mac and Cheese and Four-Cheese Ravioli, which can be purchased either chilled or frozen. Pop it in the microwave oven and serve warm to guests.
All Butter Mince Pies are filled with minced meat and bursting with juicy sultanas, Vostizza currants and raisins; and the Puff Pastry Mince Pies, a tasty and flaky fruity treat. Both have a sugar coating and can be purchased chilled or frozen.
Baked in the UK
What is Christmas without fruitcake? M&S is proud of its fruitcake dotted with dried vine fruits, dates and raisins and heavily infused with brandy. It’s baked in the United Kingdom.
The Belgian chocolate biscuits and the Swiss chocolate biscuits are beautifully packed in shimmering tin cans, another ideal gift suggestion this Christmas.
Food at home
“Our M&S holiday food is not only good for gift giving but is also best for serving at home to share with family and friends,” said M&S head of franchise for Middle East and Asia James Harvey, who flew in from the UK for the launch. “They are ready to eat and be enjoyed.”
With the new holiday food treats, Harvey assures customers of fresh, high quality products with fantastic flavors.
“It is in our mind to make our food as fresh as possible using only the best ingredients to ensure they are cooked at home to perfection,” he said.
M&S food products have no artificial preservatives or flavorings.
“Across the world, people come to M&S at Christmas,” Harvey added. “Some people may not shop regularly throughout the year, but you get to see them on Christmas because they want the best for their loved ones. It’s really a special time of the year for us.”
M&S also offers a complete selection of Christmas Food Hampers gorgeously arranged in snowflake-embellished, gold tin hampers. And as a special treat, food hamper purchases worth P25,000 and over can be delivered free of charge to one Metro Manila address.
