Steps to a Better Tomorrow | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

Yearend festivities often inspire thoughts about the past, present, and future. Have you made the most of the past 12 months? Are you deserving of the triumphs (and/or woes) that you enjoy today? What’s in store for you in the coming year? But what’s past is past and it’s best to focus on the promise of tomorrow than mull over the mistakes of the past. That way, you can live your best life, today.

Don’t know where to start? Here are how soon-to-be-married Iza Calzado and new dad of a cute baby girl John Prats, are planning to make their tomorrow better, today.

IZA CALZADO

Radiant and effervescent as ever, award-winning actress Iza Calzado showed no signs of entering bridezilla territory when she was preparing for her wedding. Last December, she married her fiancé, tech entrepreneur Ben Wintle in Palawan. What she’s actually more worried about is starting a family: “To be honest, it’s a bit scary not knowing how things will turn out, but I guess, as long as I secure my future, and I plan ahead, everything will be okay,” she shares in a video for FWD Life Insurance. “This is why as early as now, I’m making smarter shopping choices, investing in real estate, and getting financial protection from a solid insurance company like FWD. As Iza embarks on this new chapter of her life, she realizes that the future doesn’t always have to be scary. It can be the most beautiful thing of all if you prepared and planned well.

JOHN PRATS

Upon the arrival of baby Daniel Freedom, in the life of celebrity couple John Prats and Isabel Oli and their firstborn Lily Feather, John says their family is finally complete. The husband and wife, along with the whole Prats family, have been praying for a baby boy to continue the Prats name. And while John is smiling ear to ear these days, he can’t help but think of the future and what it holds for his young family.

Apat na kami ngayon. Si Freedom, si Feather, si Liv (Isabel’s nickname), at ako. Masaya, pero medyo scary. Kasi siyempre tatlo na sila na naka-depende sa akin. At alam ko na hindi madali mag raise ng family. Dahil hindi mo alam kung anong mangyayari sa future mo,” John shares.

So while his kids are still young, he’s already taking steps to make his and their tomorrows better today by making smart decisions and better choices. “Hindi lahat puro hard work. Kailangan iyong hard work mo, secured din. Kaya ako, simula nong bata ako, lahat ng ipon ko sa pag aartista at ngayon as a director, lahat yon ini-invest ko. I secure my family now, so we can be all Set for Tomorrow. Wala naman mawawala if you plan ahead and prepare,” he says.
