The Austrian National Day marked two important events: first, its centenary as a republic, and second, the 63rd anniversary of its adoption of the law of permanent neutrality.
Ambassador Bita Rasoulian had much to celebrate. Austria is considered one of the most prosperous, peaceful and safest countries in the world with state-of-the-art health care, a modern transport network, clean air and clean water, green energy and sustainable organic farming. Moreover, its capital, Vienna, has been voted as the city with the highest quality of life for the ninth consecutive time.

Another cause for celebration is the strong and robust ties between Austria and the Philippines. This can be seen in various meaningful exchanges between the two countries.
Two members of the Philippine Coast Guard are being trained by the Olympia World Innsbruck and will be the first Philippine team to compete in the bobsled event in the 2022 Winter Olympics.
The new Mactan-Cebu International Airport, which has received international acclaim, boasts a magnificent arched roof structure from Austria.
Seeing the great promise for continued cooperation and joint partnerships, Rasoulian committed to strengthening the ties between Austria and the Philippines.
This occasion was made more memorable by the performance of the Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra, which won first prize in the String Category at the 12th Summa Cum Laude International Music Festival in Vienna. –CONTRIBUTED
