PARAÑAQUE CITY — Like Miss Universe Catriona Gray’s red gown, a scarlet frock also helped Germany’s Olivia Moller get recognized at the ongoing Miss Intercontinental pageant.
Moller, a 19-year-old model, bested 81 other aspirants for the Best in Evening Gown award in a competition held at the Grand Ballroom of Okada Manila in Parañaque City Thursday night.
Egypt’s delegate was sick and could not participate in the activity.
The German delegate wore a red lace gown with sleeves and high mid slit, with sheer cape detail.
The program also included a fashion show of Filipiniana dresses worn by the delegates.
Designer Maricris Dela Peña received the Best Filipiniana Designer award for the white dress she made for Argentina’s Celina Villalobos.
The delegates will participate in the national costume competition on Saturday night.
The 47th Miss Intercontinental pageant’s coronation night will be staged at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on Jan. 26. /ee
