The old Sulô Hotel has been reinvented as Sulô Riviera, a boutique hotel with elegance, sophistication, and unparalleled taste in uptown Quezon City, dahlings.
The new hotel now carries “a transformed interior that will truly redefine every guest’s experience,” explained Cristina Cuevas, executive director of Sulô, during the launch of the boutique hotel which was held along with the birthday of the Cuevas famille patriarch, Ambassador Filemon Cuevas.
Bringing more drama and fun to the opening ceremonies were the fire breathers and pole dancers that welcomed the tons of invitees at the driveway. The hotel staff gave us a tour of the hotel, starting at Sulô’s cozy Divino Lounge, while other guests stayed by the pool where there was cool chill-out music at Aqua Lounge, dahlings.
As always, the grand highlight was the ceremonial toast led by former President Joseph Estrada, who was joined by Vice President Jejomar Binay, Miss World 2011 1st Princess Gwendolyn Ruais and glamorous Ching Cruz, a close pal of the Cuevases.
One popular politician remarked, “I feel like I’m turning back the hands of time looking at all the faces I knew in my heydays,” he said laughing.
The new boutique hotel has 71 awesome Superior and Deluxe rooms and suites. Each room boasts of unparalleled modern interiors influenced by exotic Malayan structures. “It has contemporary designs that is uniquely Filipino in every aspect,” explained Cristina C. to moi, dahlings.
Check it out, palanggas, and make Sulô Riviera your home away from home.
The Sulô Riviera is at Matalino Road, Diliman, QC. For inquiries and reservations, call 9245051; visit www.sulorivierahotel.com.
Birthday bashes at Circles
My advance birthday celebration was celebrated at Makati Shangri-La, along with belated birthday bashes of my dahling pals Carla Reyes Tengco and international jeweler Linda Oledan, no less.
Trés charmant hotel GM Reto Klauser was the perfect host at the hotel’s popular Circles Event Café. Every dish on the buffet table was served fresh, superbly done by Circles executive chef Franco Brodini, no less.
The service was perfect, thanks to the director for food and beverage, Holger Glaser.
In the end, the three sinful but to-die-for cakes were presented to the three celebrators to our surprise that totally completed our fun celebration.
It was a fabulous celebration that only Makati Shangri-La could truly deliver, naturellement. There went our weight-watching, but oh well, it was totally worth it! For a happening like this we can only wish that our birthdays come more than once a year, but thank goodness it doesn’t, di bala?
Circles Event Café is at G/F, Makati Shangri-La; tel. 8138888; e-mail [email protected]. Contact as well the hotel’s super asset, communications director Erica Sotto, dahlings.
