Sneakerheads have eagerly been trooping to Puma Select on the ground floor of Uptown Mall, Bonifacio Global City, to check out the latest designer collabs the store offers.
Puma Select, the first stand-alone store of the brand in the country, offers only 10 pairs for each carefully curated shoe style. It has exclusive collabs with designers and high-profile sports and entertainment personalities. In 2018, it opened with collabs from Rihanna’s Fenty, Cara Delevingne and The Weeknd.
The German company rolled out its street-ready looks this time with collabs with Karl Lagerfeld and the Selena Gomez collection.
Summer-inspired
There’s the summer-inspired colorway of the Roma Amor Sport, a track shoe originally created in 1968. Now in a more experimental shape and feminine design, it features a bold color palette of orange, yellow and bright blue.
The remixed kick is a combination of mesh and suede on the upper, with stacked soles and in a vibrant colorway called White-Mandarin Red.
The Puma x Karl Lagerfeld, a posthumous collab with the late designer, goes big on polka dots and manages to capture Lagerfeld’s youthful energy with bold patterns and contrasting tones. The unisex Roma, for example, has a black leather upper with circular Lagerfeld logos and white polka dots. It features an exaggerated platform midsole with oversized Karl Lagerfeld branding.
The Selena Gomez Collection lands its second installment. The Puma x Selena is a new white colorway dubbed Cali Exotic. The Cali silhouette was first released in the 1980s. The designer collab today stays true to the original with nubuck and leather upper, but gets upgraded with a stacked gum sole and rubber tooling.
