There’s nothing more attractive than a smile. It’s the one feature that gives us confidence and translates the universal message of friendship. Imagine what it’s like if you can’t smile?

This is the reality faced by some 4,500 children every year as they are born with a cleft lip and cleft palate. Sadly, the Philippines is said to have the highest cleft lip and palate cases in Asia.

In the continuing effort to make the country the top beauty destination, one person at a time, the Belo Medical Group is doing what they can to help these kids.

“Transforming Lives Beyond Beauty” is Belo Medical’s CSR program, launched in 2015 during their 25th anniversary, performing free cleft lip and palate surgeries for children.

In 2017, Belo partnered with Operation Smile Philippines, who believes that every child suffering from cleft lip or cleft palate deserves exceptional surgical care. As what Kathy Magee (co-founder and president of Operation Smile Philippines) said, “Every child that has a facial deformity is our responsibility. If we don’t take care of that child, there’s no guarantee that anyone else will.”

And Belo Medical Group strongly believes in that too. This is why the mission continues this year, headed by Dr. Victoria Belo with Operation Smile accredited Belo Surgeon, Dr. Jun Caparas. This will be happening on Oct. 8 – 11, 2019 at Sta. Ana Hospital.

There will be a whole day screening at Sta Ana Hospital on Oct. 8 with surgeries starting on the afternoon of Oct. 9 until Oct. 12

Belo Medical believes that as the season of giving approaches, there’s no better gift than to give children a smile that will last a lifetime!
