Happy Mother’s Day to all moms out there!
As we’ve come to learn over time, there can be so many types of matriarchs. We are not just children of the mothers who birthed us.We are the children of the mothers we saw on TV and in film. And maybe not all moms would admit it, I bet they learned a trick or two from them too.
Here’s a small tribute to the mothers onscreen who collectively raised us into the kids we are now.
#1 Molly Weasley (‘Harry Potter’)

“I’m not a regular mom, I’m a cool mom.” That’s it. That’s all you need to know.
#4 Josie (‘Anak’)
I won’t explain why. This 7-minute clip should do it as Vilma Santos delivers the most moving lines about motherhood at her acting best.
#5 Gloria Delgado-Pritchett (‘Modern Family’)

A mother for the mothers. One with their struggles. “And whenever I’m actually starting to figure my kids out, they grow up and I’m back to square one.”

A woman who was ahead of her time. Gloria Steinem is beaming with pride.
#8 Donna Sheridan-Carmichael (‘Mamma Mia’)
Because in reality, she’s Meryl Streep. And no best mother’s list should be without Meryl Streep.

The real cool mom model for single moms and independent women.
#10 Jessica Huang (‘Fresh Off the Boat’)
In her book, a mother who pushes for excellence is an excellent mother.
