These 4 local beauty brands should takeover your feed right now | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

Lately, I’ve been tripping on local beauty brands. Blame it partially on how staying at home locked my phone permanently to my hand.

The other part of the blame goes to how I’m quickly sold when the selfie is good. It’s how I ended up buying a Glowgasm Starter Pack from Moone Beauty. I spotted these highlighters as the reason behind almost metallic cheekbones and sparkly collarbones on Instagram.

The Glowgasm Starter Pack consists of Moone’s Liquid Illuminator and Glow Bomb. The Liquid Illuminator comes in two shades: Celestial and Moonlight. They provide a lightweight but impactful highlight. You can use it on its own or use it to layer under powder highlighter. You can also use it as an eyeshadow.

Glow Bomb is a shimmering body oil with Vitamin E. It’s what you need for that glowing goddess look. I would say it’s a very affordable dupe for the Fenty Beauty Body Lava.

I suggest you spread it with a body brush, but you can do with just your hands as it’s not sticky. It doesn’t transfer on clothes either.

Another brand that I’m an instant fan of is Colouette Cosmetics. Their products are made here in the Philippines, and with the Filipina in mind.

You can see this via one of their most popular collections: Colourtints. They are multi-use oil-tints that can be used for the cheeks, lips, and eyes—a must-have for the lazy girl who can’t be bothered with different products. At the very least, one should always have a tube of Colourtint in their bag.

At first, I doubted how pigmented this product was, so I dabbed several dots on my cheeks. Don’t make the same mistake! One dot goes a long way and gives full color immediately. Good thing they are easy to blend so you can quickly adjust if you’ve used too much.

Colourette recently completed its range of 35 Colourtints with a line-up of Corals & Oranges. I like how they don’t just think up of a few shades in that category but try to get the nuances in the color family, from Lily (peach beige) to Bambi (red-orange).

Another local brand that I heartily applaud these days is Ellana Mineral Cosmetics. They’ve launched a couple of products in tune with what we’ve been facing lately. A stand out would be their Mood Mask. These washable face masks come in 14 colors. (So you could pick up a couple if you want to match your mask to your outfit!) They’re made with satin, so they don’t irritate your skin and avoid acne caused by masks or “maskne.”

I also have kept their F* Off  Germs Sanitize Everything Alcohol Spray. Formulated with tea tree oil and aloe vera, you don’t dry out your hands, but you still get to kill all the germs with 80 percent alcohol.

Since we’re always wearing masks, the more we need to take care of our brows and make them look good. My go-to these days is from Good Brow. This Instagram brand introduced me to Brow Soap. It’s like brow mascara for that feathery, well-groomed brow. You can use it on its own or before you apply your other products.

I like to use it even when I’m not going out because it teaches me the habit of brushing my brows and caring for them. The product also helps them to grow nicely, given that the Brow Soap has aloe vera, Vitamin E, and castor oil.
