Human Nature Lavender & Mint Cleansing Bar

After spending nights looking up articles online and watching informational YouTube videos on why I couldn’t sleep, I have realized there’s no quick solution. There’s no magic elixir. A huge part of dealing with personal issues is recognizing that certain things are out of one’s control.

A routine helps to ground you in the present. When you fully immerse yourself in your immediate surroundings, it can help to harness some of the thoughts that run wild.

An hour before you plan to sleep, switch the phone to silent mode. If you must, play some music. I like Niia’s songs of late. I heard others try to enter into sleeping mode via their favorite podcasts.

Creating my sleep-time routine immediately involved lavender-infused products. I also have a feeling I’ve used the scent enough times at night that my memory immediately switches on the zzzs.

My lavender-heavy routine starts when I’m in the shower. I use the Love Beauty and Planet Argan Oil & Lavender Shampoo. The lavender scent isn’t overpowering.

Love Beauty and Planet uses French lavender that’s cut by hand. Afterward, the scent is enriched when the lavender is left to dry in the sun for a few days. The argan oil gives it moisture. There is also a conditioner of this variant if you need to give your hair more of antifrizz care.

After-workout shower

I then use Human Nature Lavender & Mint Cleansing Bar. The soap leaves the skin with a slight cooling feeling because of the mint. It’s perfect for that after-workout shower, too. It’s made with coconut oil that helps the skin feel soft.

You can follow up on your body care routine with the Lush Sleep Lotion, a product that was often sold out when it first came out because of how it can knock you out. I’ve also talked about this in a previous feature if you’re looking into an extensive body care regimen.

As I change into some pajamas, I turn on my Young Living Dewdrop Home Diffuser so I can enjoy the Young Living Lavender Essential Oil. This is the most potent lavender diffuser oil I’ve tried. A few drops are more than enough and you get the purest scent of lavender. It transforms your bedroom into a spa.

One can also add a few drops of this lavender oil to DIY skincare solutions. Lavender is known to ease minor skin irritations, help soothe skin irritated from sun exposure, and help lighten blemishes. Adding a few drops of it to cotton rounds soaked in sunflower oil and witch hazel results in an effective makeup remover.

If I’m still feeling a little on the edge, I massage my temples and forehead with the Favori Sleep & Relaxation Salve. I picked this up on a whim at BeautyMNL, curious about how well it would work. I’m glad I did, as it provides a comforting tingle of peppermint on top of the lavender scent.
