Now it can be told: Jessy Mendiola got hurt the most when detractors tagged her as “ahas” (snake) because they thought she stole Luis Manzano from Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin years back.

Mendiola admitted it got through her when netizens accused her of stealing Locsin from Manzano. It was speculated back then that she was the reason for Locsin and Manzano’s split. She opened up about this in the latest episode of her YouTube vlog yesterday, Aug. 22, which also featured Manzano.

While seated with her in a couch, Manzano candidly asked Mendiola, “Sa lahat ng negative comments that you’ve seen online, what’s the one comment na talagang na-offend ka?” (Of all the negative comments that you’ve seen online, what’s the one comment that offended you the most?)

“Siguro naman (ay) hindi naman mapagkakaila na sobrang na-offend ako nu’ng tinatawag akong palaging ‘ahas’ o ‘third party,’ so that’s a given,” Mendiola replied.

(Maybe, it cannot be denied that I was so offended when I was called “ahas” or “third party,” so that’s a given.)

“Actually, sinasabi ng iba, dapat hindi ka nasasaktan kasi hindi totoo. But it’s more like mas masakit kasi nga hindi totoo. Ganon ako, that’s how I look at it. It even hurts more when it’s not true. Kasi kung totoo, sige hahayaan ko kayong sabihin iyan. Kumbaga, deadma, totoo naman kasi, eh. Totoo eh, so hindi ako ma-o-offend, ‘di ba?” she explained.

(Actually, others were saying that I should not be offended because it is not true. But it’s more like I am hurt by it because it’s not true. I am like that, that’s how I look at it. It [hurts even more] when it’s not true. Because if it’s true, I would just let you say that. I would just ignore it because it’s true anyway. It’s true so I would not be offended.)

“But it’s more offending kapag hindi totoo (and) they throw those things at you. But ‘yun, that’s a given. Siguro sa mga hindi n’yo pa alam na nao-ofend ako, more like bumabalik sa iyo kapag ang dami-daming nagko-call sa ‘yo (Manzano). Siguro kasi ang tagal na natin together and they’re waiting and pini-pressure nila tayong magpakasal or mag-propose ka,” Mendiola said.

(But it’s more offending when it’s not true and they throw things at you. But that’s a given. Maybe to those who don’t know that I am offended, it’s more like it gets back to you when there are so many calling you (Manzano) out. Maybe it’s because we’ve been together for a long time and they’re waiting, they are pressuring us to get married or for you to propose to me.)

Mendiola also voiced out that although she does not believe it, she gets offended when people say “Luis will leave you,” and that he will never propose to her because he is a womanizer.

“Na-o-offend ako for you,” she told Manzano. (I am offended for you.)
