Sharon Cuneta’s fairytale dream to own a castle has reached a screeching halt — all because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Cuneta made public her dream to own a castle, posting some photos of castles for sale in Europe on her Instagram account on Sunday, Aug. 23.

“Eto noon pa ang pangarap ko. Totoong for sale ng mga ito sa Europe,” she said about the photos.

(This has been my dream since before. These castles are really for sale in Europe.)

She related to her IG followers a private joke she has with her family — that she’ll kidnap her grandchildren and live with them in a castle.

“Kasi ilang taon ko nang joke sa mga anak ko na [‘pag] may mga anak na sila, kikidnapin ko ang mga apo ko at kami na lang ang magkakasama! [‘Di] malalaman ng mga anak ko san ang castle namin! Hahaha!” she said.

(For how many years I’ve joked to my kids that when they have children, I will kidnap my grandchildren and we’ll be together! My children will not know where our castle will be!)

But for now, it remains a dream.

“Mahal eh! Buisit talaga na COVID ito,” she quipped.

(It’s so expensive! This COVID is really annoying.)

Cuneta shared she could have raised money to buy her dream castle had the coronavirus not gotten in the way as it took its toll on projects.

“Kung natuloy lang lahat ng trabaho ko sa 2020 may chance pa sana. Eh papagawa pa kami ng bahay dito sa ngayon,” she said.

(If all my work pushed through this 2020, there may have been a chance. But we’re constructing our house here now.)

If not for her children, Cuneta would be contented living in a condo.

“Kundi lang sa mga anak ko wala na akong bahay dito condo na lang. Haaay…Love nila ang Westgrove eh. Para naman [‘di] sila aalis at mag-aaral sa ibang bansa. Tapos mag-aasawa,” she said.

(If it were not for my children, I would have no house, I will just live in a condo. My, they all love Westgrove. As if they will not leave and they will not study abroad. And then get married.)

“Humanda sila. Kikidnapin ko lahat ng apo ko!” she said in jest, adding that her son Miguel will be her “accomplice.”

(They should prepare. I will kidnap all my grandchildren!)

“Kahit san ko gusto pumunta sasama daw sya. Hahaha! My baby boy,” she mused.
