TV host and broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez-Roxas expressed her love and care for abused dogs as she reminisced on pitbulls she has rescued.
Sanchez spoke about the case of a dog named Monalisa on her Instagram account yesterday, Aug. 30, and recalled the day she came to rescue some dogs as far as two years ago while helping the organization Compassion and Responsibility for Animals (CARA).
“A day I will never forget and always cherish,” she said as she showed a photo of herself on a beach with Monalisa.
“I fostered many rescued pitbulls from the group CARA two years ago and I chose the disabled, old and sick. They’ve been beaten down all of 3 [to] 5 years by an illegal dog fighting ring in Laguna until rescued by the authorities,” Sanchez narrated.
“These dogs are the sweetest,” she declared, taking note that these dogs are “so hopeful, so grateful, so loving.”
While Monalisa is “almost blind,” Sanchez says she is such a joy to be with because “she follows me around everywhere and is such a beautiful healthy dog.”
“Along with several others from the shelter, it was her first time by the sea and run on the beach with no restrictions. It was her first time to breathe this kind of air,” she said.
Sanchez simply finds happiness in helping abused dogs in her own little way.
“I can’t explain the joy in my heart when [I’m] able to make a difference in the short life of an animal who is capable of loyalty, gratitude, even love. Yet they come under such human cruelty, voiceless and helpless,” she said while also acknowledging that she can’t save them all. Thus, she asks fans and followers, and other dog lovers to adopt the pitbulls she and the org have fostered.
She plans on holding a “birthday party” for the fostered pitbulls at the beach, and interested persons who wish to adopt are invited to come.

“Just email me at [email protected]. I’ll match you with your pittie and help you with vet requirements,” she committed. JB
