Megastar Sharon Cuneta is hoping to inspire people to extend help to those in need, which is why she recently shared to her fans about the relief efforts done by her family.
“Konting tulong sa ating mga [kababayan] sa Porac (A little help to our countrymen in Porac),” Cuneta stated in her Instagram page yesterday, Feb. 15, where she posted a short video of her husband Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan doing relief operations in Pampanga.
The video showed her husband giving out tablets and relief goods in the Aeta community. In January last year, Pangilinan distributed relief goods and portalets to evacuees in Cavite.
“Sabi ko kay Kiko, dapat nilalabas niya ang mga ginagawa nyang pagtulong, kasi laging patago! Di yung puro pang-file lang para makita ng mga apo namin pagdating ng araw! Di tuloy alam ng tao,” Cuneta said.
(I told Kiko that he should make public the help he extends because they’re always done secretly. These should not just be for filing, for our grandchildren to see in the future. The people do not know about these.)
She also mentioned about the senator and her daughter Frankie “Kakie” Pangilinan’s help for the victims of the Taal volcano eruption in January last year, which she said were also unreported.
“Pati pagtulong nila ni Kakie at pagpunta sa mga Kababayan natin nung sumabog ang Taal, wala yatang nakaalam. At marami pang ibang nagawang walang nakakaalam. Di kasi kami gano’n talaga,” she explained.

(Even the help that he and Kakie did when they went to Taal after the eruption, no one knows about that. There are many more efforts they did that no one knew about. It’s because we’re really not [the type to announce].)
“[Sa] mga panahong ganito, baka maka-inspire sa ibang [kababayan] nating tumulong din kahit paano,” she explained. (During these times, it might inspire our countrymen to also help in whatever way they can.)
Cuneta celebrated her 55th birthday last Jan. 6 with family and greetings from fellow celebrities such as Judy Ann Santos. JB
