Life is not without disappointments and TV host Amy Perez shares how she deals with such, through faith.
Perez only relies on the Bible each time she faces disappointments, she stated on her Instagram page yesterday, March 2.
“The Lord gave me a simple little statement to say out loud every time I am faced with an opportunity to be disappointed. I am simply to say, ‘Lord, in this particular situation (name the situation) I choose to trust You,’” she said.
Perez estimates that she has used the line more than “10,000 times” since she believes that “there is something about saying it out loud that kicks the whole process into gear and releases the trust.”
“You won’t necessarily be able to prevent certain thoughts from knocking at your mind’s door, but you can control which thoughts you allow in and think through. If you let in fear and doubt thoughts, the what-if thoughts, you open your mind’s door that the Word might not work. When you do, trust goes out the door and in comes disappointment,” she explained. “At that point the Rock (the Word) becomes a stumbling block.”
“This is not a mind over matter situation in which you refuse to think about your situation until it either goes away or gets better. It’s about a supernatural intervention. God says, ‘If you trust Me you will not be disappointed,’” she added.
Perez, a veteran TV host of “It’s Showtime” and co-anchor of the radio program “Sakto,” regularly shares spiritual and Biblical passages to fans. JB
