Entertainment anchor Gretchen Fullido thoroughly enjoyed her recent trip to Bohol which afforded her the chance to see tarsiers up close.
Fullido documented her trip to the Philippine Tarsier Conservatory and shared some photos and videos of tarsiers in her Instagram page today, June 21.
“One of my priorities in this Bohol trip is to re-visit the Tarsiers in the Philippine Tarsier and wildlife sanctuary — it’s been years since I last visited and it was the perfect time to go now because it was just us there (travel is very limited, thus significantly less tourists in the island),” she said.
To let the public know more about the primate, Fullido shared some facts on her post.
“Tarsiers are the smallest primates in the world. These endangered creatures are very sensitive — they commit suicide by banging their heads against tree trunks when they get stressed, so visitors have to keep the noise level to a minimum,” she stated.

Fullido also reminded people that since tarsiers are very sensitive, there are limits on how one can photograph these animals.
“Visitors are allowed to take pictures from a distance but never use flash photography,” she shared. “Also, do not ever touch the Tarsiers as they get traumatized by touching [and] loud noise.”
Fullido is known to her fans as a nature, plant and animal lover. She recently marked World Ocean Day with an appeal to help raise awareness about the protection of seas. JB
