Actress Aubrey Miles acknowledges that she and her fellow plantitas/plantitos often break their own promises, especially when it comes to acquiring plants.
Miles cited some of such promises which can’t be fulfilled, in her Instagram page today, Aug. 17.
“Do you ever have those ‘okay that’s enough’ moment? ‘I already got my dream plant, no more,’ or maybe ‘I’ll give it a rest’? ‘I promise this is my last plant. After I get this plant [I won’t] buy for a long time.’ Really?” she asked.

“I think all of us plant people have been through this promise. Broken promises,” she said. “Don’t worry though, you are not alone. We’ve all been [there] and are still there.”
Miles believes that any plant lover should be free to acquire the plant one wishes to have. She advises plant collectors to network, keep learning, save up, research, “and of course stay humble.”
“Only you can predict and create your future plant collection,” she added. “Patience is key and timing is everything.”
“So don’t rush your collection,” she advised. “Plants are sorta like staying fit, if it’s genuine it will stay with you forever. No need to rush. Even if you think you got everything, believe me it’s not everything and it will never be.”
Miles acquired a P250,000-worth Obliqua Peruvian plant last June. JB
