Actress and celebrity vlogger Rica Peralejo has been appreciating the importance of being gentle in various aspects of life.
She spoke about her thoughts on gentleness when it comes to self care and parenting, as seen on her Instagram page today, Sept. 14, just as she recalled a trip to Boracay and showed a photo of it.
“One of my gentle noons in Boracay. I miss the island. Maybe because I have never liked the seas as much as the mountains?” she said, considering that she’s also a known mountaineer. “And that my last visit had the power to change my mind? Not only because it was beautiful, but maybe because I am now gentler?” .
Gentle, for Peralejo, is a huge concept and can be powerful.

“Gentle is such a big word for me this year. And true to its nature, it was not imposing when it came. She was as soft and kind as she promises,” she said. “I [realized] that to exercise does not really mean to kill yourself for it. To make your [heart rate] go up like crazy. Or that it even meant losing weight. It can be slow. It can be soft. And still, be effective. Gentle is effective.”
Peralejo then shared that she actually learned gentleness from being a parent.
“And this gentleness, which I had so little of all my life, really has started to come to me three [or] four years ago, via parenting. There is a gentle way or raising kids! Hah! And in our case, it proved to be more effective,” the celebrity mom said.
“And to you all who aren’t parents but have always believed in the no pain no gain way of life — well, I think it’s about time to see that we don’t have to hurt and break before we gain,” Peralejo added. “[At] least not in everything.” JB
