Alexandra served as EIC for 25 years, seeing the growth of the magazine alongside the changing trends of British fashion: from Princess Diana to Kate Middleton, from Kate Moss to Cara Delevingne. She’s the longest serving editor of the publication, noted for championing supermodels as stars in their own right and cheering on emerging desingers from the British scene among many other achievements.

In 2004, she was appointed Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE), one of the highest recognitions given to civilians in Britain from the monarchy.

Since the announcement, tributes to Alexandra have been posted online, citing her visionary work for the magazine and in fashion.
