“Every great move forward in your life begins with a leap of faith, a step into the unknown.” —Brian Tracy

The year 2022 is a decidedly new new year in so many ways, as its themes are a great departure from the past several years. As predicted by practices from numerology to astrology, it will be full of transformational personal breakthroughs, innovative art creations, lightness and joy, prosperity, and expansion.

Every year, I set an intention and pick a word to focus on. Although different yearly, I usually choose “happiness” or related words, as it is always my priority. I hope this year brings everyone immense joy, fulfillment, and tons of rewards!

After much contemplation, my word is “energy” in all its transformations. With the big energetic shifts of 2022, I wish to activate this in my home, and in a life that is lived fully and unapologetically.

To start my year purposefully right, I joined Tickled Pink, a six-week Life Design Workshop of Filipina life coach Eileen Juan. Filled with insightful lessons and intentional meditation, the weekly sessions are focused on energy clearing, goal setting and life cleansing to embrace the new transformation. This online workshop helps you design your life and gives you a system to implement so you find the courage to make the next step to move you “from gray to glow” in six weeks.

Longtime diving buddy and BFF Eileen shared that after 70 hours of interviewing different men and women about their pain during a major transition in their life (whether career shift, midlife, empty nesting, choosing a career, going solo, etc.), she realized she had a gift of coaching and helping clear the space of anxiety and self-doubt of her clients. Eileen’s workshop helps remove the feeling of being stuck and gain courage to follow the calling or purpose. And for most of us, our purpose is ever evolving.

Best life ever

After moving to Canada, Eileen put up Tickled Pink (check out greytoglow.com) to help seekers navigating a transition and design their best life ever through planning, strategy and execution. If we do it for business, why can’t we do it for our personal life?

While coaching chief executive officers and business owners, she realized that leaders could be more successful if they fixed their personal lives. The hero outcome is the courage to transition and the confidence in self. Empowered with tools and best practices, her clients could live their best life ever.

Since I am in need of more assistance to navigate my transition, Tickled Pink will give me the courage to do the brave act of making that move so I may live that best life—the one I am meant to live!

Being dive buddies for more than two decades, Eileen and I have come a long way especially with love relationships. It was wonderful to reconnect with her and Jeena Llamas last year in Balesin and Boracay where they encouraged me to try kiteboarding. This year, I will focus my energy on learning this thrilling sport.

During this continuous pandemic, we all need to keep our vital energy flowing internally to enhance our core being. Stress directly triggers the adrenals in our body that secrete the highly active hormones of adrenaline and cortisol, which put the body into “fight or flight” mode. When we are in fight or flight mode, the digestion and immune systems stop working.

Take time out to positively manage stress and increase well-being to reduce anxiety and tension. Giving a few minutes to meditate can make you feel calm and relaxed. Meditation is meant to help in deepening understanding of mystical powers and the inner soul’s silence. It’s a type of mind-body complementary medicine.

Yoga is one of the best ways to alleviate many symptoms of stress. Three approaches for relaxation and reducing stress can be breathing exercises, progressive muscle relaxation and visualization.

Auspicious year

Moving to the astrology realm, the energy of the Year of the Tiger has the Yang Tiger signs on its Day, Month, and Year Pillars. This could bring a triple whammy to the Monkey-born, the conflict animal of the Tiger.

Yang animal signs, the Tiger, Dragon, Horse and Dog, will however be boosted by the energy of the year, as will the Monkey, notwithstanding its overall conflict challenges. In contrast, the Rat, Ox, Snake, Rabbit, Sheep, Rooster and Boar may have to take it easy this year, and proceed only with caution and determination.

The main destiny chart, which extends from Feb. 1 to Jan. 21, 2023, has plenty of wood and water, some earth and fire, but an absence of metal. The missing metal element infers a tendency for people to act and do things independently—thus, more division rather than partnership. Metal is like a magnet—it represents connections, connecting people, and therefore its absence indicates many forms of separation.

With all these negative energies looming over 2022, I better align my feng shui chart with the expert Marites Allen so she can help me lead an auspicious 2022. Check out her shop (frigga.co.uk, frigga.com.ph) for lucky charms and home feng shui cures.

According to Marites, the impact of the Misfortune Star 5 is very strong in the wood and water chart. It indicates the potential for more drastic climate change impacts, tsunamis and water-related incidents. Additionally, this year brings increased illnesses, especially of the digestive system, and it infers the continuation of COVID-19 throughout the year.

Home kits

Stay safe and test regularly with one of the most convenient kits, X-Aria. Testing remains a vital pillar of the COVID-19 control strategy. It is true that vaccination can reduce the severity of symptoms but, by itself, cannot prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Lab2Test (lab2test.com) is a home-use kit that is affordable, accurate, accessible and backed by the most advanced digital medical platforms.

X-Aria is a qualitative antigen rapid immunoassay and visual read test done through nasal swab in just three easy steps: swab, drop, wait. It only takes at least 15 minutes to know your result; no more unwanted exposure, and this gives you a reliable result.
