Over 19,700 materials from American multinational publishing company Wiley have been added to the virtual library of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.
The institution’s Br. Fidelis Leddy Center for Learning Resources now carries new digital textbooks that cover diverse disciplines, including mathematics and statistics, life and earth science, food science, health and medical science, psychology, psychiatry, veterinary medicine, chemistry, physics, biology, computer science and technology, emergency management, business, finance, engineering and education.
It has the latest editions to leading titles in hospitality and culinary, graphic design, architecture and interior design, social sciences, humanities and world languages, etc.
The subscription allows Benildeans to browse textbooks on the platform using Windows, Android and iOS.
This is the college’s response to the greater need for electronic books and sources to further support remote teaching, research and self-study amid the lockdowns.
The database includes access to over 24 million free-to-download e-books, journals, references, industry reports and datasets from reputable agencies, plus another 1.5 million free-to-lend sources from Internet Archive’s online library.
These e-resources can be embedded by the instructors into BigSky, the official learning management system of the college, for the effective online learning experience of the students.
