Zanjoe Marudo reveals that the company of his friends, who he does activities with, makes him forget the pains of a failed relationship.

“Mas gusto ko may kasama. Maglalaro ako ng golf para mas ma-clear ‘yung utak. Saka ko siya haharapin siguro kapag medyo gumaangaan na sa tulong siyempre ng mga friends. Ginagawa kong busy ang sarili ko. Ginagawa ko ‘yung mga gusto kong gawin,” Marudo said during the online press conference for the Vivamax movie “366,” last Friday, April 1. The film will start streaming via Vivamax on April 15.

(I prefer to have company. I would play golf to clear my brain. I will deal with [the problem] later when it has become lighter with the help of my friends. I keep myself busy. I do what I want to do.)

Marudo believes that the best way to deal with a broken heart is to let it leave your system, after you have fully felt its pain.

“Kailangan mong ramdamin. Kailangang ubusin mo sa katawan mo kasi babalik at babalik ‘yun kapag mag-isa ka na. Kailangan malagpasan mo siya. Kailangan maubos siya sa katawan mo para makapag-move on ka,” he said.

(You need to feel it. You need to exhaust it off your body because it will come back when you are alone. You need to overcome it. You need it fully exhausted off your body so you can move on.)

The actor stressed that he does not need to discuss his heartbreak to his friends. All he needs is their company. That alone can make him recover easily from a failed relationship.

Meanwhile, Marudo said he was challenged by his character Marco in “366” as it offered him a chance to work with the tested tandem of Bela Padilla and JC Santos, who have already worked together in “On Vodka, Beers, and Regrets,” “The Day After Valentine’s” and “100 Tula Para Kay Stella.”

“Ang naging challenge dito ay makakasama ko ang established na tandem nina JC and Bela dahil ang dami na nilang nagawa. Kung paano magwo-work ang character ni Marco kasi importante ‘yun, eh. Importanteng mag-work siya para mabuo ‘yung istorya,” he explained. “Kailangan kong sumabay para mas maganda ang kalabasan.”

(The challenge here was I was able to work with the established tandem of JC and Bela, because they have already done so many projects. How can Marco’s character work? That is important for the story’s wholeness… I need to keep up with my co-stars to achieve a good result.) JB
