Newcomer Daniela Allard is ready to forego having a love life just so she can concentrate on her acting career.

“Hindi ko priority ang love life… kapag na-in love ka, makakasira sa career,” she said during our exclusive interview last August.

(Having a love life is not my priority. It’s a hindrance, when you fall in love, it can ruin your career.)

Allard’s last romance lasted for six months.

“May foreigner admirers ako but bet ko ‘yung Pinoy,” said the half-British, half-Filipina newbie who hails from Capas, Tarlac.

Allard has always dreamt of going into showbiz, while growing up.

“Pangarap ko pong maging artista. Sa tingin ko po iyon po ‘yung gusto ko talaga para sa sarili ko. Na-inspire po ako sa iba na magaling silang aktres,” she said.

(It is my dream to become an actress. I think that’s what I want for myself. I got inspired by other actresses who are great.)

Good for her, her family is not against her dream even if she’s pursuing a sexy route early in her career now. She plays the other woman in “Bata Pa Si Sabel” helmed by award-winning director Brillante Mendoza. The movie will be shown on Vivamax.

“Wala pa po akong karanasan sa pag-arte pero gusto ko po umarte. Sinasabi nila na bagay ka sa ganyan, bagay ka sa pag-aartista,” she said.

(I don’t have experience in acting yet but I’d like to act. People tell me I’m fit for [certain roles], that I’m fit to become an actress.)

A former model in car shows and beauty clinics, Allard is not about to shy away from the challenge of doing sexy scenes and bed scenes in the movies.

“Kaya naman po. Kakayanin naman po. Siguro po gagalingan ko sa first movie ko. Talagang ibibigay ko ang best ko para makita ng tao kung paano ako umarte para marami pang humanga sa akin,” she said.

(I can do it. I will keep at it. Maybe I will need to give my best in my first movie. I will give it my best so people would know how I act, so that there would be more people who’ll admire me.) JB
