A peek into Moschino SS2023 and Heart Evangelista's private fitting for the show | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

A beacon of optimism amidst such trying times, Creative Director Jeremy Scott transformed the Moschino runway into a prism of buoyancy for SS2023, championing bright colours and playful symbolism in each garment. From boxy jackets to sporty dresses, and functional skirts featuring blow-up hearts, the collection plays a direct twist on the term inflation. “Everybody’s talking about inflation,” Scott notes backstage. “The cost of everything’s going up: housing, food, life. So I took inflation into the collection.”

A tailored black suit with inflatable lapels rendered in bright red, a knitted sailor blue dress held together by safety cords, and a dreamy white frock lined with a blown-up floatation device are only some of the pieces that brought Scott’s vision to life. “In Moschino’s long-standing manner, each piece in Spring holds some wink or trick of the eye, and is layered with double entendre and wit. The inflatables are genuine or faux, signaling questions between illusion or reality (another conceptual adjunct to the complexity of our era). Ultimately, though, it’s about offsetting the negativity–of breaking through the surface into a ray of sunshine, even when the rest of the water is shadowed in gray. That’s where joy may be found.” notes the Italian fashion house via press release.

Joining Moschino for the evening to unveil their show was also none other than Filipino actress and socialite Heart Evangelista. Fitted in a stark but playful black skirt and blazer ensemble adorned with gold flatware, the fashion week veteran enjoyed a personal fitting prior to the show ensuring only the most pristine exhibition of the fashion house’s most coveted garments.

Sharing her look to Instagram, Evangelista garnered thousands of likes for her high-fashion look, and leaving people wondering if they too could get their hands on a Moschino piece. Fortunately enough, the storied Italian luxury brand has finally made it to the shores of the Philippines just in time with a pop-up located at Greenbelt 5.

Moschino’s pop-up store is located in Greenbelt 5, Legazpi Village, Makati, Metro Manila and will opens its doors at 11AM on September 28, 2022 and will be open until October 28, 2022.
