These Platform Shoes Prove that It's Not Just For the Disco | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

When I think about platform shoes, I picture the almost impossible pairs worn during the ’70s. While our parents may have chucked their pairs from that period, this style is making a comeback.

Glamour said platform heels—be it on mules or boots—are one trend to watch out for this season. Another way you can wear this trend is via creepers, which Rihanna made popular again with Fenty Puma.

The platform height ranges from bearable to sky-high, depending on how confident you are to walk in them. But let’s focus on the former for everyday use.

BP. Monika Platform Mules

Put a twist to your casual streetwear style with this metallic silver pair. Each shoe has a one and a half-inch rubber platform that can withstand long walks. Available on Nordstrom.

H&M Boots

Ankle boots are great to wear with skinny jeans. These ones from H&M will give you ample height minus the discomfort as they’re made with polyester. Just don’t wear these when it rains. Available at SM Makati.

Puma Vikky Platform Sneakers

Don’t worry if you couldn’t cop Rihanna’s Fenty Puma creepers. The brand still offers platform sneakers, which is the next best thing. The Puma Vikky is made from suede with a padded insole for additional comfort. Available on Zalora PH

Dr. Martens Seraphina Aunt Sally

Fringed footwear is a must-have now as they’re perfect for both casual and formal events. For a sturdy pair, go for the Seraphina Aunt Sally, Dr. Martens’ version of a slingback sandal. It has a peep-toe design with rubber heels and platforms. It’s also made with the brand’s patented Airwair Technology which makes it easy to walk in. Available at Bonifacio Global City.

Mansur Gavriel Leather Platform Mules

Made with soft Italian leather, this Mansur Gavriel pair has a block heel and platform that ensures that the wearer is balanced while walking. The tan hue is also a perfect fit for dressy occasions. Available on Net-a-Porter.
