Toyo Eatery turns 10 with tons of ‘friends and partners’ activities

From recreating its original 2016 menu (at 2016 prices) to hosting an afternoon of talks, Toyo Eatery turns to the past to inspire its future

Ten years in the restaurant industry is no easy feat. But 10 years in the business as Toyo Eatery is an even greater achievement if you realize what Jordy and May Navarra and the rest of Barangay Toyo have set out to do: reassess and rediscover Filipino culture through food.

This is one reason why the restaurant has become home to some of the most exciting menus as well as cross-cultural collaborations in Manila today.

“Reaching a decade is a really proud moment for us, and we wanted to celebrate the entire ecosystem of people that were with us on this ride, and that made all of this possible,” says Jordy Navarra

And in the space of a decade, Toyo Eatery has also picked up a well-deserved Michelin star, consistent Asia’s 50 Best accolades, hospitality awards, and even a pioneering Qatar Airways collaboration.

To celebrate this milestone, Toyo Eatery is commemorating the occasion with a series of events that not only honors its journey but also the culture and community the restaurant has nurtured over the years.

“Reaching a decade is a really proud moment for us, and we wanted to celebrate the entire ecosystem of people that were with us on this ride, and that made all of this possible. We also knew we had to do it the Toyo way: collaborative, and focused on the friends and partners whose hard work and creativity always inspire us,” shares chef and owner Jordy Navarra.
