The Weeknd’s latest album ‘After Hours’ has arrived | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

The Weeknd just dropped his 4th studio album, “After Hours” following the release of his lead singles “Blinding Lights,” “After Hours,” “Heartless” and “Scared to Live.” As the visuals and earlier tracks would have you expect, “After Hours” maintains a dark, melancholic vibe all throughout.

His album credits include collabs with Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, Lopatin, Max Martin, Metro Boomin, Frank Dukes and Illangelo. This is The Weeknd’s latest album after 2016’s “Starboy” and is his first to not include any featuring artists. Still, “After Hours” broke Apple’s record for most global album pre-adds.

If the gritty imagery seems familiar, it’s probably because the visuals for “After Hours” take inspiration from films such as “Uncut Gems,” “Joker” and “The Shining.” Watching the short film, the confused myriad of blood, madness and eventual murder definitely reflects its influences.
